Chitrakoot is a sacred pilgrimage town on the banks of the Mandakini River, straddling the UP-MP border. It is believed to be the divine forest where Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lakshmana spent 11 years of their 14-year exile. Ram Ghat on the Mandakini is the most sacred bathing spot.
